In collaboration with my dear friend and co-doula, Olivia Hartvig of Bloom in Alchemy, I am offering in-person support groups for LGBTQIA+ families in Santa Fe, New Mexico. New offerings will be listed below. If there is a specific type of support group you are looking for that I am not offering, please get in touch and I can do my best to connect you with the right resources.

LGBTQIA+ Postpartum & Parenting Support Group
What? A 6-week Queer & Trans centered postpartum and parenting support group where individuals and their partners can come as their whole selves to be seen, heard, and learn about the parenting journey. Topics covered will include: processing the birth experience, caring for your body & mind, feeding your baby, tending to your partnership, communicating with your baby, community building & beyond. Each session will include grounding exercises, educational components, embodiment work or movement, and space to share and connect with the others in the group. All participants will receive a workbook, care package, readings & resources list, supportive videos, and art supplies.​

Pricing? The true cost for joining the group is $325 per family, but we are offering tuition on a sliding scale from $225-$425. We received grant funding through Tewa Women United to pay for scholarships for families who are unable to pay. If you need a scholarship to attend this group, please get in touch. your facilitator-doulas

Sal and Olive are the co-doulas of Queer Doulas New Mexico. It wasn’t long ago when Olive found Sal on the Queer Doula Network. Sal was the only queer doula listed in New Mexico, a place Olive was very called to visit. A few months later they met in person on a sunny winter day and quickly bonded over their love for birthwork, herbalism, and queer community. Now they are working as co-doulas applying their values of reproductive justice, bodily autonomy, and community care to LGBTQIA+ people through their reproductive journeys, including menstruation, conception, pregnancy, loss, abortion, birth, postpartum, and general reproductive wellness. They have dreams to one day open a mobile apothecary bringing accessible herbal medicine & bodywork to people across Northern New Mexico. Our Mission
Queer Doulas New Mexico centers LGBTQIA+ people through their reproductive healthcare experiences. By gathering in community where we can share, learn, and dream together, we become agents of our own bodies and healthcare experiences. Working at a local level, we strive to be a part of the larger movement towards reproductive justice. 

Our Values

• Community care: Healing doesn’t happen alone. Healing happens in community when individuals are supported by a holistic web of care. We believe in collaborative healthcare that expands our understanding of holistic care to include cultural, societal, emotional, and spiritual environments that affirm the identities and experiences of the individual. 
• Reproductive Justice: We believe that everyone has the right to their bodily autonomy, to decide to have children, to not have children, and to parent their children in the way they want to. We support our clients to make informed reproductive healthcare decisions that are best for their body, family, and experience. 
• Accessibility: We believe that everyone has the right to doula care. Accessibility is an on-going and dynamic practice; people’s needs are always evolving. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to reproductive care. We prioritize creating a space where people feel safe to communicate their needs so we can best meet them. Currently, we are practicing accessibility by offering sliding scale payment, structuring time together that meets people’s learning styles, and using multiple modes of communication.
• Transparency & Communication: We embody these values as facilitators and care providers to maintain integrity within ourselves and our client relationships. We practice with curiosity and openness to the many ways health and wellness looks. We are aware of our limits within this work, always taking care to do our own research and refer out when something is outside of our scope of practice. Additionally, we work with our clients to practice confident communication that they can use with their medical providers.
